The Hampshire County Council have published the following information regarding imminent planned road closures for pipeline installation on the A32 Gosport Road
A32 - Drainage Layout 1 (South of FIC) – Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 May 2023
A32 - Drainage Layout 2 (North of FIC) – Thursday 1 and Friday 2 June 2023
Carriageway Resurfacing – Monday 5 to Friday 16 June 2023 (not weekends)
The carriageway resurfacing will be delivered in short sections from Kitcombe Lane to just north of Woodside Lane, and on these dates the road will be closed from 7:30am to 6pm each day, however, if works finish earlier than expected then the road will be opened sooner. Map1 & Map2 ()
During the road closures there will be a signed diversion in place via A32, A272 and A31.
When the works are in close proximity to properties or businesses, vehicular access will not be possible, and unfortunately, some delay may occur. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

Over the next couple of weeks engineers will be visiting the businesses in Farringdon to discuss any specific access arrangements they may have to try and help keep disruption to a minimum.
Additional works off the highway and on Shirnall Hill
After the completion of the works mentioned above additional drainage improvements to effectively drain the highway and reduce the risk of surface water from flowing on to it will be undertaken either side of Farringdon Industrial Centre (using temporary traffic lights) and on Shirnall Hill. This is still being finalised and a start date is yet to be confirmed. Further information will be available on this web page in due course.
There are also more closures due when they resurface the main A32, Gospott Road, throught the village in stages following completion of the above works.
